Pentecost meaning 50th day,after pass over,-is feast of week of Judaism, Resembling-Feast of Descent of Holy Spirit-2nd feast after Easter&marks close of Eastertide.
Catholism lead you to enjoy Happiness even in your present life. Last sunday we contemplate on that. This sunday, Pentecost, we were invited to analyze more how to reach Happiness, through, our awareness. To develop the knowledge of this world and how to live in this world, without craving much on to the earth bound needs such as Money, power and desires!.
Finally, we conclude the easter season, with this two sundays(belongs to ordinary) to realize, Out come of easter - Happiness and awareness(Wisdom or knowledge)
B. Preamble to today's reading:
B.1 Need and want:
In order to identify the need and want, one has to clearly understand our living society and the basic requirement need for living:
(1)There are 3 types of living beings in this world. Human,animal & trees. All these 3 needs 5 basic elements earth, water,air, sunlight & food. Human needs one more element- fire. NOT the other requirements like sheltor etc.
(2)Equivalent to FIRE, human is having a MIND. Similar to FIRE, the human Mind can be used for good or bad purposes.
Similarly,the computers having Soft ware. Hence computer is more powerful than ANIMAL.
(3) The obvious difference between human & animal is, that Human is doing work for a purpose, while an Animal is doing work without any purpose. Human can tell stories and write books, where animal cannot!.
(4) The obvious difference between HUMAN & COMPUTOR: Human is having a FREE WILL(the ability to choose) where HE can laugh,cry, dance.... Many things, but computers cannot do these things on ther own, it has to be programmed.
(5)ANIMALS work to instincts, Computers work to programming where as HUMANS work to FREEDOM. Mind will decide what s truth and Free Will decide the corresponding actions!(What is good)
(Instinct mean natural tendency or ability to behave or react in a particular way without having to learn it or think about it).
(6)A human can behave easily like an ANIMAL. If he carry work for Bad purposes.
HUMAN CAN DEGRADE HIMSELF TO BE LIKE AN ANIMAL, BUT ANIMAL CANNOT REACH THE CAPABILITY OF A HUMAN. BASIC NEED FOR HUMAN TO LIVE IS SEARCHING FOR FOOD, ALL THE OTHER BASICS NEEDS ARE GIVEN TO HUMAN FREE(air,earth,water, sunlight,fire)
WHAT HUMAN WANTS?
There is a big difference of humans with regard to what he wants. This creates worries without his knowledge in his life. Earth bound needs such as money, power and desires, creates many wants in human's life. once he used to that wants, it will be difficult for him to understand, that want, is not really need him to live happily.
In this area one need good life education to understand what he want and what he needs. In this area one should not forget, the technological advancements, which creates human work to carry out efficiently! For example: Jesus Christ travel with donkey, now you need a motorized vehicle, it is more efficient. Similarly those days we use to send letters by post, now we use mainly e-mails. Now we use mobile telephones for communication.
B.3- Developing your Will Power
Freedom may be the best motivator of all. Throughout history,societies and large groups have sacrificed their lives for the right to determine their own fates, make their own decisions, and masters their own lives.
Self-determination theory(SDT), can be considered the "why" of human behavior, but the self regulation is the"How".
Self regulation is the ability to monitor and modulate cognition(formal understanding), emotion and behavior to accomplish goals and/ or to adapt to the demands of specific situations. Self regulated behavior involves controlled, focused and attentive thought and action as opposed to impulsive and reactive action.
Self determination not possible without adequate self regulation.
Being autonomous and in control of yourselves is all well and good, but many people have had the experience of letting themselves down after a resolution to diet, exercise, quit smoking,or change some other undesirable aspect of their behavior. They want to"diet" but they over eat, they want to exercise, but end up watching that movie they rented instead.
THERE IS A STRUGGLE FOR SELF CONTROL GOING ON, A STRUGGLE OF THE WILL. WILL POWER IS THE ABILITY TO RESIST SHORT TERM TEMPTATIONS IN ORDER TO MEET LONG TERM GOALS.
This is where the concept of Will Power comes in. Will power can be considered as a LOGICAL COMPONENT OF SELF REGULATION, to be in control of oneself in the face of competing or contradictory motives or impulses. You can diet and lose weight or enjoy eating entire plate of rice and bloat.
Will power is a psychological ability that exists in all people to a greater or lesser extent. Will power has been linked to a" mental muscle" that can grow, get stronger, weaken, fatigue and even atrophy(to become weak). Strong Will power has been associated with success at behavioral changes.
So Catholicism direct us to develop, our will power to do correct things, in accordance with 10 commandments, following God's Will with avoiding 7 vices, to reach Happiness now and eternal.
B.4 importance of identifying your basic needs?
Your self indulgence(Something that you do for pleasure, not because you need it). is opposite to spirit Fornication(to have illicit affair with someone whom you are not married to),gross indecency&idolatry (practice of worshiping idols/idol-someone that you love so much))& sorcery(magic that uses the power of evil spirit),feuds & wrangling(to argue with someone angrily for long time),jealousy,bad temper &quarrels, disagreements,factions,envy,
B.5 Signs of your Happiness.
Your life become efficient without any laziness. Then you will not develop anger, in your actions. You do all of your actions for the grace of the God, in thanking Him, since He created you!.
B.6. Faith,Hope and charity
God has given full freedom after Jesus. But human outcome of most human actions, we are not 100% sure,hence it leads to a cross.
Your life is always running over a cross. God shows this by taking cross,as the new symbol for Human. He further showed, the treatment of our life by allowing Jesus to be died on the cross. We can study the whole story of Jesus from Gethsamane, Golgotha and how Jesus has risen.
Any action of yours is a result of your 2 machines in memory. Ie logical and emotional- this represent Jesus from Gethsamane to Golgotha
Your are carrying your own crosses in your life. Jesus shown at the Cross. 5 wounds and other sufferings +3 nails. Whole of this story shown, how we face our life. 5 wounds- how we control our 5 senses with respect to 10 commandments and God's will. 3 nails represent how we lead our life with worries(your own worries+your immediate family worries+your society worries). Jesus showed us to hand over such worries to holy mary+saints. Linen kept at tomb indicate that all your negative experience in your life has to forget. Stone at the tomb was rolled out-When you decide to change every day, you will see your life, resting 3 nals will become Faith,Hope and Charity!.

C. Conclusion:
Live wire of our life is presence of Holy spirit,
Before seeing wonders in your life with respect to others, you should experience yourself, the presence of spirit in your own life. Then you can see wonders wth respect to others!. Today Paul explicitely sited what actions in our life are bad. Try to avoid those actions, then hand over your worries to holy mary, then identify God's will for you to enjoy your life happily!

Cycle 2: truthful catholic: to achieve Happiness in life, one has to be aware how to train his own Free Will, to avoid vices and experience the spirit in his own life.- BE AWARE
