Sunday(21/6) Pride Catholic - in summary

This Sunday we are reminded" PRIDE DECREESES THE FAITH TO GOD AND INCREASE FEAR AND SORROW IN YOUR LIFE.

Job(3:1,8-11) says"..your proud waves shall break"

Paul says(2 cor 5:14-17)".. Christ..one man..died..then all men should be dead..now..not judge anyone..standard of flesh..who is in Christ..new creation.."

Mk(4:35-41) says"..Jesus said"..cross..other side"..boat..blow gale..almost swamped. But He..asleep..woke Him..rebuked..wind..Be Calm..so frightened? How..U have no faith.."

Reminds: there are 2 machines in your brain (A) logical machine- operate with data+ truth for you
(B) Emotional machine-operate to feelings and emotions.
This emotional machine, normally attracts the Pride. It is too great an admiration of oneself. Pride has 7 evil consequences:
(1)Boasting
(2)Love of publicity
(3)Hypocrisy( a way of behaving in which you pretend that you have better moral principles than you actually do)
(4)Hardheadedness( practical and able to make difficult decisions without letting your emotions affect your judgment)
(5)Discord(formal disagreement or quarreling between people)
(6)Quarrelling
(7)Disobedience

When all these 7 inclinations grow in our dealings with God and neighbour, leads to Egoism.

JOB Through suffering get rid of pride. Which is essential feature needed to follow God's will,under new covenant.
When your emotional machine  balloons with pride,you get fear for slightest disturbance to your normal life.
Jesus clearly showed that HE can do impossible to Possible reminding us, when we follow 10 commandments with no enemies, follow God's Will and avoid 7 vices, specially PRIDE, you will not get emotional disturbance to the situation, as you know God is with you.

A good example, of dying without any emotional agony was the death of St Maximillian kolbe.

A franciscan priest, St Maximillian Kolbe,(born 1894) who was sent to the concentration camp at Auschwitz for opposing nazis: he died(14/8/1941)- when he exchanged his life for that of a condemned married man.

What is the difference with Maximillian Kolbe to Jesus disciples?. May be that concept of Holy spirit was absent, until pentecost?.

Cycle 2:season:ordinary(2): Sunday No:11: Date:14/6/2015. Mustard Catholic - in detail

A. Back Ground: The real ordinary time start today. It talks about characteristics of developing faith. The difference between bouquet and seed. Growing seed is difficult and time consuming. It needs everyday watering and manuaring. Then only it will become a big tree.

B. Preamble for today's reading:

B.1 what is faith?
In our living world, there are many professions: medicine,engineering,legal etc. Each profession there are things to understand logically. Then you grow on faith in that profession. Similarly religion. First you should be clear about concepts. Then you should know the scientific theory behind that.
Let's think about Catholicism, what are the concepts.
(1) God has created human according to His image, to lead a happy life(logic: you cannot decide from which parents that you can come to this world? Only God decides. He decide your death time too)
(2)Our original parents, didn't follow the guide lines given by God. They ate fruits from forbidden tree, which causes them to expel from Eden Garden.(Freedom is always subject to follow law-not to eat from forbidden tree)
(3)Fear and sorrow introduced to human life

(4)God trained Israelis how to accept full freedom through Jesus(son of God)

(5)Basic guideline introduced to human before Jesus was to follow 10 commandments with Eye to eye principle.
And God was instructing direct.

(6)After Jesus, full freedom restored with same 10 commandments with pardoning principle/ with triune God(father-son-holy spirit)/now God s invisible, you have to search for HIM.

(7) Full Freedom for human means, Human's cannot control over death and they will not know 100% outcome for any action. These two is under the control of God.

(8) Death,fear and sorrow to our life is the result of sin, done by ourselves(going against 10 commandments+not following God's will). Christianity says, that your sins will be pardoned immediately, under the sacrament of confession.

(9)Your brain, consist of 2 machines-logical + Emotional. For any action of yours these 2 machines discuss, mostly they contradict. Hence any action of yours is a CROSS, since you are not avail of 100% of outcome of that action.
Jesus showed practically, how these 2 machines functions, swinging from Gethsamane To Golgotha. Every acton of ours is a cross, since we are not avail,100% outcome of that action. Hence every human life is a cross. Jesus(God), showed, to choose to dying at the cross, that our life too, we are hanging on a cross. The 5 wounds Jesus was having, has even seen after HE has risen, just to indicate, that we sinned mainly from our 5 senses.(Mouth,eyes,nose,hear & touch). Every day you have to get it pardoned for those sins.

(10) Human life is full of worries,fears and sorrows/disagreements. God means love and Happy. But our sins(gong against God) make us our life miserable, like the dead body of Jesus. What is the treatment for these woes?
God, in His own wisdom,showed us, at the cross, that Holy Mary is our mother. Death body of Jesus were kept at the lap of Holy Mary. Jesus at the cross was hanging on 3 nails. 3 nails can be assigned
(1) woes of your self
(2) woes with your immediate family
(3) woes with your society. Hence all these woes to be handed over to Holy Mary/saints for them to intercede with God.

Old linen was kept at the tomb of Jesus, implying that all your bad experience and sins to forget by your self. Lastly the stone of the tomb was rolled out,implying that you should determine to change.

When you understand,and convinced
about logic behind concepts, then it is easy for you to practice.

B.2: what pope Francis says about faith:


Chapter1- THE LIGHT OF FAITH

The light of faith: this is how the church traditions speak of the great gift brought by Jesus. In john's gospel, Christ says himself:" I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness."(Jn 12:46). St paul uses the same image:" God who said' let light shine out of darkness' has shone in our hearts (2 Cor 4:6). The pagan world, which hungered for light, had seen the growth of the cult of the sun God, sol invictcus, invoked each day at sunrise. Yet though the sun was born a new each morning, it was clearly incapable of casting it's light on all human existence. The sun does not illumine all realty; its rays cannot penetrate to the shadow of death, the place where men's eyes are closed to it's light."No one- saint justin martyr writes-has ever been ready to die for his faith in the sun" Conscious of the immense horizon which their faith opened before them, Christians invoked Jesus as the true sun"whose rays bestow life". To Martha,weeping for the death of lazarus, Jesus said:" did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?"(Jn11:40). Those who believe, see; they see with a light that illumines their entire Journey, for it comes from the risen Christ, the morning star which never sets.;


B.3 More consideration of seed and tree

For any seed to develop like a big tree, it needs
(1) Care+ everyday watering
(2) Sunlight

The above (1) you have to do it, while
above (2) God will provide.
When you want the support of God, you need to follow HIS commandments. Otherwise you are trying to grow a small tree, without sunlight, which is not possible.

B.4 Why we respect so much Holy MARY!
(MOTHER OF FATH)

She is a  living examples for us to(1) follow the God's will(2)setting example of developing faith!

She was from the Jew's religion,but in following God's will, she never find fault with God, for the difficulties, they face in bringing up Jesus, from childhood to youth.
Specially how she managed (1)in up bringing Jesus, until jesus' public life(2) hoe she introduced Jesus for public lfe(at Cana)(3) seeing his sorrowful agony(4) leading church with apostles & now she protect human for their misgivings!

Characteristics of developing Faith. It is a continuous effort, until your death. Any subject when you need to develop, you have to be fully focused on that subject throughout your life time. Then only you can see the beauty of that subject.
Similarly Jesus teaching you have to focused at least on sundays for you to enjoy your life as promised by God. We are ever grateful to saint Pius V, for arranging these readings, in 16 th centuary. Following Jesus teaching, you will see Impossible things make it possible
In your life.

C. Conclusion:
 You normally like bouquet of flowers rather than a packet of seed. But you forget that there is a limitation of cut flowers,no matter how beautiful they are. You have to spend more time,in planting seeds. Jesus told you to grow seed of faith, by following HIM.U grow every day Faith, with support of God/Mary &saints,Then you will be happy, enjoying beauty of God's creation. Catholic faith is always maturing with life time,when you trust& follow ONLY Jesus teaching. HE will not disappoint,you, provided you give your all.


In ordinary times 1- we started from Baptism-the real acceptance of our free will to accommodate God into our life. Ordinary times 2- we were reminded of growing our knowledge about Jesus teachings in our life.  When we grow the knowledge of Catholicism, the seed of Jesus, in our life, gradually becoming like a big tree.

After easter tide(after pentecost), sunday readings, we reflected on who is our God(Trinity) and what rituals God is providing to have physical connection with God(Eucharist). Today, it highlights the value of following only Jesus teaching, to understand more and experience Happiness out of HIS teachings to your life.

Today readings

You may be following Jesus commandments, but if you experience laziness and anger in your day to day life, you ought to check about your behaviour, where it has gone against to the commandments.

We have an innate tendency to think that we are always in the right. This attachment to"being right" often create suffering, because it is always impossible to be right at all times. Normally people do not like to be told how they should think, and that they are wrong,if they are disagree with you. Here we need help of GOD,to accept that we are not always right or cannot always be correct. The anticipated out come of happiness in your life can be achieved, by careful analysis of avoiding 7 vices. Anger,sloth,pride,lust,avarice,envy,glutonny.

To achieve a large mustard tree is a life long exercise. If you are happy with your own time and experience the God's grace, you are on the correct path.

Cycle 2:season:ordinary(2): Sunday No:10: Date: 7/6/2015. Impossible Catholic: most holy Body and Blood of Christ:(Corpus Christi) - in detail

A. Back ground: after easter we reflected on the following feasts.
(1) Ascension- when you are dead(tired) with worries, always practicing Jesus teaching allow you to be happy(risen Christ)
(2) Pentecost- you don't know,100% out come for your acton-ex your are traveling and you meet with an accident. When you are with God, HE will see about your happiness.(Remember the presence of God & HIS mercy always-Holy Spirit)
(3)Holy Trinity- God is omni potent, omni presence and knows all your ideas. We can see HiM as 3 persons in our life. My body-Father/He ensure Happiness to me. My mind-Son-what is truth for me/I might make knowingly or unknowingly mistakes due to lack of knowledge of commandments(sin), My Free will- Holy Spirit-I carry out action to observe happy result/ forgetting God may result in No insurance cover for a Happy life

Today we reflect physical live wire of Catholicism, Holy Eucharist and major characteristic of Catholicism " making impossible possible"


B. Preamble to today' s reading:

B.1 Holy Eucharist and it is relevance to our life!
Last Supper Jesus changed bread and wine into His Body and Blood and said"Do This in Remembrance of me"(Mt 12:1).
Eating is important for you to live,otherwise you die on starving!.

when you need energy,tieing a loaf of meat to your leg,will not transfer energy but you have to cook,taste and digest. Eucharist,is not to store,but to digest.

 Wrong ways of enjoying food,has come to us from original sin. If you want to increase your weight by 1Kg,you need9000 K calories of energy. To achieve that you have to eat 1kg of butter or margarine(oil/fat),or 1kg of pork. BUT REDUCE WEIGHT IS VERY DIFFICULT.

A Labourer can burn1200 Kcal/8hrs & needs around 8 days to reduce1kg of his weight and if you do exercise for 30min/day,you need 1 month. You become over weight due to accumulation of additional energy you take by food(don't blame your parents).To control your weight, you should have
(1)Will to reduce
(2)dietary control
(3)exercise
(4)stress free mind(easy to achieve from Catholicism)


B.2 How to achieve impossible things!

When Jesus had the last suffer, first HE clearly shows a important principle of Christianity.
He did not tell His disciples, to go to the room direct, but HE told, when you go, you will meet a person carrying water, asked him,about his master, then meet him and tell him, Jesus wanted a room to have the Pass-over meal.
Can't Jesus tell His disciples to go to the room direct? HE is GOD, HE knows everything!. Method HE proposed, practically is impossible for us to find a room.
HE shows clearly, with the presence of God, in your life, when you go out, you will meet, the person carrying the water. Then how to get to a room. With God, he clearly shows, that Impossible things will make it possible.

Then He showed, another impossible thing for normal person, The Holy Eucharist. The presence of God, in the Eucharist.


B.3 proofs

 How far this is true(the presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist) in this scientific world?

Evidence(1)

Fr Peter,German Priest was doubting  the conversion of bread & wine, into the body & blood of Christ at the moment of consecration in mass. While he was traveling,he stayed at Bolsena (Italy) was celebrating mass: The HOST when he broke for communion,appeared be spattered with blood & bleed into the corporal,the small cloth upon which the Host & chalice rest during the cannon of mass. After this,in1264,Pope Urban 4 institute the feast, Corpus Christi. you can see the blood stained corporal in the church of St Christina. After 700 years Pope Paul 6 celebrated this feast in the same alter.

Evidence(2)

In 1830,at Holy Mass, St Catherine Laboure PHYSICALLY SAW CHRIST at the HOST. You can see her in corrupt body in Paris.

Evidence(3)
St Anthony and Holy Eucharist
Anthony,a franciscan, is from LISBON(portugal).He preached in France/Italy. Bonvillo(Tolouse/france) argued against presence of God in the Eucrastic. He said he would allow his mule,in market place without food for 3 days. Finally Anthony to bring the Blessed Sacrement & Bonvillo to bring oats. After 3 days, publically Anthony carried the Host,to the starving mule & Bonvillo brought oat. Mule turned from the food & kept his head on the ground in an posture of Adoration & did not rise until Anthony retired!.in 1231 at the age of 36 Anthony died  & canonised in 1232.St Anthony, in corrupt vocal parts you can see in Padua/ Italy! He was popularly invoked for the recovery of lost articles.

There are many more incidents you can get!

B.4 Unique ritual of catholic!

From material aspect,Jesus left His people with more than memories!.Only possession He had at His death was His robe,which ended up being bartered for by Roman soldiers. Yet HE gave His people something tangible to remember Him
He gave us a beautiful parting memory that we could touch, taste,feel & digest in to our body!.

If you an athletic, you need to eat nourishing food to get energy to your body. Say meat will provide you energy & if you tie a loaf of meat  to your thigh!to run, Will you get energy to run? No. You have to prepare meat, enjoy eating, will digest your meat to convert energy into your body!. Similarly Holy Eucharist, you have to digest to receive the spiritual energy!
Hence Eucharist become precious nourishment for your faith,as well as a bonding ritual among members of the church!


B.5 B.3 Worship only to Eucharist!

Holy Eucharist is called the "Real Presence" of Christ, and it alone is given the WORSHIP and ADORATION due to God, because it is considered the real,true and substantial body and blood of Christ himself!. The other ways are mystical and spiritual but not substantial and not considered sacraments in and of themselves.

B.4 The difference between Praise, Respect & Worship!
Many developing country catholics, unknowingly mix up with worship to God & respect to their parents/teachers, undermining the worshipping God.

Praising: temporary respect
A mother will praise her Son for his good work, while she will blame(shout) her son for his bad work at different times. Since  human is weak, naturally the child is weak, the child has to be brought up with praise, as well as blame, under the pure intention of make him a good man. So praise is a temporary affair, where we appreciate, while reserving right to point out wrong at a different time. The body language that is being normally use a smile, or praising words from your mouth. Correcting, normally used the facial expression of frowning, with blaming by mouth.
Respect:  A person(like your parent) who has been helpful in your life, but you can live without them now!. As a gratitude you respect them like bowing your head to him.

Worship: only God why? Because you are grateful to Him in providing life and allowing you to lead your life happily!. So you kneel only to Him. Without God you accept that you cannot live(Air will be provided to you by God to breath)

Hence praise & respect is temporary in time, while worship is permanent in time. Here one should not identify your mother/father, as living God at your home, so that you confuse worshipping to them rather than God!.

10 commandments are very clear in respect of parents and worship of God(1& 4)
(1) Thou shalt have no other Gods before Me
(2) Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain
(3) Keep holy the Sabbath Day
(4) Honour thy father and mothe


B.6  St John Paul II and Holy Eucharist

St JP2 wrote His last en cyclical in 2003(Ecclesia de Eucharistia) on Eucharist & it's relation to the church!, which consists of 6 parts!.

EUCRASTIC
(1) as mystery of faith- how the consecrated bread & wine can become & remain the body & blood,soul & divernity of Christ
(2) the foundation of church
(3)As apostelic(being historical connected what the 12 apostles themselves did)
(4)Requirement to receive communion
(5)Proper dignity,respect & reverence demanded as holy celebrations(frequent visit to Blessed Sacrament,Holy hours of Adoration,Exposition & benediction, Corpus Christi processions, Perpetual Adoration chapels,masses celebrated with reverence and decorum proper to the sacred mysteries to be celebrated)

B.7 Pope Francis & Eucharist
According Pope Francis(ref:1st encyclical letter- The light of faith) He explains about Eucharist! Para 44(quote)
" The sacramental character of faith finds its highest expression in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the precious nourishment for faith: an encounter with Christ truly present in the supreme act of His love, the life giving gift of Himself. In the Eucharist we find the intersection of faith's two dimensions. On the one hand,there is a dimension of history: the Eucharist is act of remembrance, a making present of mystery in which the past,as an event of death & resurrection, demonstrates its ability to open up a future,to foreshadows ultimate fulfilment. The liturgy reminds of this by its repetition of the word hodie, the "today" of the mysteries of salvation. On the other hand,we also find the dimension which leads from the visible world to the invisible. In the Eucharist we learn to see the heights and depth of reality. The Bread & wine are changed into Body & Blood of Christ,who become present in His passover to the Father;this movement draws us, body and soul, into movement of all creation towards the fulfilment of God"

B.8 Procession:
Corpus Christi procession remind us, that life itself is a procession. We are only pilgrims here. We are only passing by. We shuffle along, sing our hymns,strew our flowers and at the end of the day, the streets are empty and all our flags fly at half mast!.
Our procession points towards God. Christ is in the middle of it, helping us, encouraging us, leading us onwards. He walked with us for 33 years in the flesh. He walks with us now under the appearance of bread.
He waits for us in the tabernacle, gathers us around His table, invites us to enter His sacrifice, enters into us in Holy Communion as food for our journey, obliges us to care for all who travel with us, whether they be of our persuasion or not!. He gives us hope,peace and unity and certainty to our procession. He gives points and directon to our journey. Because Christ is at the head of it, because is at the heart of it, life is not just any old procession. It is a 'Mighty Corpus Christi' procession, the procession through history of the Body of Jesus Christ.

D. Conclusions:
With Jesus, God gave us full freedom to use our free will, independent to HIM. So we can take any action pertaining to our life independent to HIM. But, we know, that output of any decision we cannot Guarantee 100%. Certain times, we unconsciously realised that the presence of God for certain Happy events in our life, under the normal cicumstances, it was not possible!.
Hence, if you are wise, you can easily identify the presence of God, into your life!

Then you can further analyse about, who is this God, these 4 sundays you were opportune to analyse "Who is this God, who help you in your life to make impossible to
Possible. Then follow HIS instructions. This is Catholicism.
