Reflection for 20th august 2017, celebrating 20th Sunday mass of ordinary season,of cycle 1. Today church invite us to reflect 3 major points:
(1)how to develop faith in our life. What is the characteristic of Faith
(2) salvation is not only limit to the people who receive christ
(3)God's concern about rejection of Christ by HIS own people.

Let's first analyze about Faith

Would I be right in saying that you were a little bit shocked by todays Gospel?.and if you were, what is that shocked you? Wasn't it the way Jesus behaved towards the cannonite women?. At first, HE refused to talk to her. When HE did talk to her, HE seemed downright rude. 'It s not fair to take the children's food.'HE said' and throw it to little dogs?(Mt 15:26). Sure a man that had any manners at all would not suggest, even by implication, that a woman was a dog, especially when she had a daughter who was seriously ill, indeed Jesus was so deaf to her entreaties earlier on, so dismissive apparently that HIS disciples implored HIM to say something to her, even if it was only to tell her to' clear off'. The way Jesus behaved in this slightly ill tempered encounter seems to be entirely out of character.  I suppose most charitable construction you could put on to it to say HE was having a bad day!.

Why God the son, wanted to show this story to us?. For that we have to be clear to the difference between Belief/Trust/faith

In order to understand the difference, let us follow a story:
A man famous for tight rope walking across Niagara Falls, performed even pushing a wheel barrow on the rope. He then wished to walk across on the tight rope pushing a wheel barrow with a person in it! He asked the crowd if they believe he could do it.

They yelled'YES',so he asked for a volunteer. NOBODY CAME.

Distinction between TRUST & BELIEF,is that they believed he can push it with a person, but they did not trust him enough to put their lives on it.

Trust is acquired over a period of time, which in time will eventually lead to Faith. Trust does not come automatically. It MUST be tested, tried &proven & once it is established over a period of time, faith will overtake trust.

Faith DOES NOT have to be tested, tried or proven. FAITH is the total & complete confidence/allegiance.

So cannonite women, in this story, should have develop faith, following the process of belief and Trust, though the story doe not reveal anything about this!

Similar incidence you might have notice with Holy Mary in Mt 12:48, where Jesus was talking about who is HIS mother! But Holy Mary never appears to be considered the statement! Why because her faith. Imagine if it happens to your mother with respect to you, you will big drama!.

Faith can be developed only with God. God and saints are ideal persons. You can trust any human. But of you is ever changinmg your characteristics with repect to time, leading you not to develop faith with any body!.

Today's reading:
Prop Isiah says(IS 56:1.6-7)"I will bring prisoners to this Holy mountain"

Paul to Romans(RM 11:13-15.29-32) sAyS" With Isrel God never take back HIS Gifts or revoke HIS choice.

MT (15:21-28) says" Women you have a great faith"

Today' gospel Jesus changes HIS mnd. How is that possible twice I'm matthews gospel,Jesus limit HIS ministry to the lost sheep, of the house of isrel.(Mt 10:6.; 15:24) in today's story however, a very fiesty woman, clearly not a daughter of Abraham,With her urgency and witty Report, brings Jesus to recognize needs of those beyond the ethnic confine of jews people. They are ordinary human beings too, just a much in need of the good news of the kingdom,as anyone else.

Today 2nd reading paul remnds us, that he glorifies in his ministry to gentiles, although he deeply regret the rejection of christ by some of his own people, the jews. And God will not give up on them either. In the Gospel, Jesus at first seem to go alone with the exclusiveness of the Jews." My mission is only to lost sheep of the house of Israel. But cannonite women refuse to be put off. "Help me Lord" she cries. And HE gives in." Woman you have a great FAith, your wish will come to pass" ONE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF THE CHOSEN PEOPLE IN ORDER TO HAVE FAITH AND BE SAVED.

In conclusion today's Gospel mainly reveal how to develop faith in your life. First you have to experience the trust with God and HIS love to you, then only you develop Faith, where what ever the outcome in your life, you will not discouraged and always depend on HIM
The last point to derive is no one is lost except by his own free, deliberate and malicious choice. God's Wills the salvation of all people not only Christians!
In conclusion God shows mercy to all! Are you jealous?

Thank you

Reflection for 13th august 2017, celebrating 19th Sunday mass of ordinary season,of cycle 1. Today church invite us to reflect 4 major factors. (1) how to manage fear in your life(2) how to develop courage but not to go for dutch courage(3) without dis courage, how to encourage others about God and HIS teachings!(4) what is the difference between magic and miracle.

First we will see about fear!
Fear is ever present in our life.
Jesus was afraid. HE talked about HIS fear' to HIS staff. HE wrestled with HIS fears to the point of sweating blood in the garden. Without fear JESUS could not have been example to us. HE would have been just another man.
JESUS was not afraid to grow up,either, but HE did have to face some painful and gruesome events in HIS life.

Proverbs mention the foolish farmer, who waits for a cloudless sky, before he plants his field. There is always a cloud somewhere in the sky, and those who have trained to look will probably see more than one. Waiting for a perfect time is a great excuse, and rationalization to stay stuck where you are.
Jesus knew that best way to conquer fear was to face forward. HE didn't shrink to go to Jerusalem. HE boldly announce HIS identity to HIS executioners. HE got sick to HIS stomach and wept till sweat became blood - but HE went thru' it. Although HE felt fear HE faced it.

Courage is the ability to do something(even though you may be afraid)that is frightening, difficult or dangerous.

Dutch courage means strength or confidence gained by intoxicating & this is of 4 types
(1)drinking alcohol
(2)unwanted craving of power,money,desires (3)cravings towards7vices(sloth,anger,pride, envy,lust,glutony,avaric)
(4)infallibility, selfishness & ego.

You can develop dutch courage too!,which will end up increasing fear and sorrow n your life,in the long run!

You need courage to TRANSFIGURE your actions (that match inward reality)for love of God,which will result even to walk on water. Like Peter, when you sink,God is there for your rescue. Through Confession, with a priest,U can convert Ur actions of DUTCH COURAGE(false) to spiritual Courage (true),which is a UNIQUE FEATURE of Catholicism. When disciples saw Jesus walking on water, they were terrified, thinking that it is a ghost&cried out in fear!.Jesus said"COURAGE it is I,Do not be afraid"your courageous action(ur wisdom)others might see as a ghost!

Courage is not the absence of fear, Rather requires fear. Courage is willingness to act in spite of fear. There is no need to be courageous if you are not afraid of something. In other words,Courage is something one possesses. It means that a person is brave and doesn't allow fear to stop them from taking a difficult action. If a person is courageous it means that he is very brave. Encouragement is given by one person to another.

In Life, most instances you will have fear, sometimes, you don't know how to get out of fear. When you allow fear to grow up it might end up committing suicide or you become unhealthy. How to treat fear is one of the important aspect of catholicism. You hand over your fear to Holy Mary or your favorite saints, for them to help you and you move forward without analyzing too much on your fear. You will see, the treatment or solution for your fear.
Following God's will does not mean, that you will not face fear or problems, but you are assured how to clear your problem. Sometimes we need immediate solutions, but God's methods are different. Jesus went after 4 days lazarus died, but he again gave life to lazarus. That is why our fAith become important.
Rising death of lazarus, converting water into wine, walking on water certainly is above the limits of science to explain. Those things are called miracles.  Magic you can always explain with scientific knowledge, miracles you can explain only with God's knowledge or faith with God. So God is above science, where still science cannot produce air, blood or control climate.

Todays reading:

Book of kings says(1K 19:9.11-13)"stand on the mountain before the Lord"

Paul to Romans says(Rm 9:1-5)" I would willing be condemned if it could help my brothers"
MT (14:22-33) says"Tell me to come to you across the water".

Do not be afraid is one of the expressions, which goes straight to the heart. Who has not sometimes be afraid? The command not top fear combines 2 things. Firstly it is a recognition that sometimes that we are afraid, secondly, it proclaims that in the community of faith, with Jesus, God with us, our companion on the way,we ought really to be free from deep fear, because,"all shall be well". Let us hear again the words" courage it is I, do not be afraid"

Finally we can summarise today's reflection as follows:

(1)walking on water/converting water into wine, rising lazareth from death is above science, which cannot be explained-it is Miracles
(2)when you develop faith with God,you witness Miracles
(3)fear is ever presence in your life& can be treated only with courage
(4)but developing dutch courage(earth bound cravings)end up with introduction of more fear into your life& discourage U to follow God's Will
(5)Jesus showed HIS fears at Gethsamani, otherwise HE could not have been example to us
(6)foolish farmer waits for cloudless sky, before HE plant his field
(7)Mary+saints will help U to concur Ur fear, &to face forward.

Do U encourage others to hand over their fears to respective saint?ex st Anthony-lost items.

In conclusions, you can ask questions by yourself:
 JESUS Worked thru' HIS fears!
What are the fears that is keeping you from achieving your goals?, is it those goals are earth bound or spirtual? Or to develop your wisdom?
Assuming your fear will never disappear, how long are you willing to wait, to move forward?. How to get the support of God thru' Holy mary and saints?

Thank you!
