What is the main message of Christianity?
Human is having mind and free will for him to carry out actions. Mind will decide what is good for him, then free will will carry out actions accordingly. God in His own wisdom, took jews, to train what how to manage our free will, independent to HIM. We have option to accept HIM and surrender our free will to HIS or we can totally reject HIM. Upto the end of JESUS
Life,HE has showned us what to do, to enjoy happiness in our life! So Christianity God represent in 3 persons Father and Son shows the method to jews, how to be happy in this life, then Holy spirit spread the good news to the whole world thru' Pope and guiding now,how to manage the paradigm changed.
Why God selected Cross, to represent human life?
Why God selected to show death thru' a cross?. Cross is having 2 arms/horizontal-parallel to earth,showing,every time in your life,is attracted towards earth bound cravings
(1)MONEY,POWER & DESIRES
(2)Your actions, can be either WHOLEHEARTED/ULTERIOR MOTIVE/PERSONA
and other arm is vertical towards HEAVEN,strive to develop FAITH/HOPE/Charity.
How far you can manage,earth bound cravings will result you to move from Horizontal to vertical. That is why God selected CROSS,to show an example for us!.Most of religions in the world tries to balance these two. That is why, we respect all religions. Catholism gives clear unambiguous process to balance this by laymen & clergy!
Our actions can be either
(1) Whole hearted
(2) With ulterio motive
(3) Persona
When You don't know, Love of God, that HE has created you for happiness, your actions can end up in above 2 or 3.

Why Jesus waited till Judas' to leave that place, to tell, Love one another!. Juda's was a disciple but what he wanted is a political success from Jesus, to overthrow,Roman Empire from Israel. So he was with Jesus as far as outside world think, but his internal is with satan.

Conclusions: All religions in this world say Love each other. But Christianity says 1st Love God, then love other. Is God selfish?
No. He wanted to know how much we know our life(creation), more you are happy, more you know,it is due to God. In order understand love of God, we should mainly follow 7 Ethics of Catholism. There are 2 important actions for a catholic to follow.(1) avoid laziness,and develop your talents(2)every human in this world,tends to sin(going against 7 ethics), sin will cause you to be unhappy in your life.
In order to avoid, the bad effects of Sin, You should (a)Repent (b)confess to a Priest(Jn 20:23)(c)carry out many indulgence work, to please the God, to reduce the punishment due to sin.
Once you confess, you permanent punishment will be converted to temporary punishment!.

When you believe KARMA, you cannot repent for your sin, since you don't what sins are effected into your present life. This will confusion to identify, what is present sin or previous birth sins. Defenition of indulgence(catechism of catholic church- CCC 1471) says: " a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful christians who is duly disposed gains under certain prescribed conditions through the action of the church which,as the minister of redemption,dispenses and applies with authority the treasury of the satisfactions of Christ and the saints".
Indulgences are similar to removing stitches over an already healed wound. There are conditions for obtaining the plenary indulgence;
(1) Perform the prescribed prayers or works of charity
(2)Get to confession and Holy Eucharist 7 days before or after
(3)Be free from attachment to sin,even venial.
