Francis Xavier(3/12) And Pope Francis In Srilanka - in general

Spanish,Francis xavier,was ordained(age31)as Jesuit.During Portuguese era(1505/1658),1544 FRANCIS WAS IN SRILANKA!then.at the age of 46He died2/12/1552 in malacca.His body remained incorrupt in Goa.He was canonised in1662.He is Patron saint for propagation of faith.He told' millions might be easily converted,if there were more preachers who would sincerely mind interest of Jesus& not their own'.

During'Dutch period 1658-1796, Srilankan catholism was banned.1687, (age36),Fr Joseph Vas came to Srilanka,to safeguard catholism.he died in kandy1711 and became Blessed on 21/1/95. 1701Fr Ferrao,commence to built Madhu church  was officiated in1705/9/8by Fr VAZ.

This unique shrine in world,which clearly shows,how Mary control serpents(devils)is a fruit of dutch persecution era in Sri Lanka.

Jesuit PopeFrancis will be in Sri Lanka from 12 jan2015 to declare Vaz as patron saint of Sri Lanka and visit Madhu shrine!.
